We
use alternative fuels in our operations – this saves waste from landfills and
optimizes the energy consumption at the plants.
We
also incorporate alternative materials such as local pulverized fly ash (from
power plants) and Ground Granulated Blast-furnace Slag (from steel plants), into
our products for greener cement
Our
plants have waste heat recovery (WHR) systems that recovers lost heat from
clinker processing, which generates more than 450,000 MWh of electricity, resulting
in a reduction of roughly 300,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year (that’s
equivalent to emissions – saved – from travelling a total of 4 billion km or
around the Earth 10,000 times over!)
